Hetmuseumisweeropen is a temporal artist initiative, based in Amsterdam and Studio Paris. It will be represented online and in site-specific exhibitions (offline) Hetmuseumisweeropen will wander about a number of World Wide Musea. Some well known and some more or less unknown.

Hetmuseumisweeropen will initiate and curate large-scale exhibitions showing in empty museum rooms of a range of displaced museums and will present an affiliated exhibition in the Print Room. Intermittently and with little attempt to become a pre-planned sequence. Shadow Shows of cross platform work will present cultural material from a diverse number of sources.

Hetmuseumisweeropen started just before the second temporary exhibition of The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam as hetstedelijkisweeropen. We will make our shows in Worldwide musea at least during the time there is a Temporary Stedelijk. Though we have reason enough to move around

empty musea

We found many empty or half empty musea. If you put them together it's quite surprising.... Here you find a list.

'upperground' art

Hetstedelijkisweeropen will elect a changing profile of artist/curators whose differences of opinion and taste about art will make work projects as The Pluriform Museum. Practitioners will be positioned to oppose uniformity and the all too familiar habits of current convention.

The works on show are re-formations of authenticity - visualising lived experiences: what it is to look, to listen, feel alive, connect with wonder and overcome lamentation.

Hetstedelijkisweeropen will show Upperground Art, Art that does not hide.

Logo of hetstedelijkisweeropen

The logo of Het Stedelijk is weer Open is symbolising two funnels:
1
From the bottom to the top shows all the art of the world in the past, now and in the future and worldwide.
This big non-existing database can never be seen nor shown.
2.
From the top to the bottom shows the process of filtering the data (art) that we see, meet, know....make.

1+2 produces exhibitions.

1+2 brengt exposities voort.

Work of Maria Sluierhof
ruined

afbeelding

During the exhibition at Hetstedelijkisweeropen one of the works of Maria Sluierhof is ruined by a visitor spraying red paint on the canvas. The woman who mutulated the painting suggested she did it: to free women from sexual behaviours... Maria Sluierhof replied: The painting became even more interesting now... I will not remove the red text.. by the way is is placed very well...

Curators hard to reach

Curators of modern Art Musea are most of the time unattainable by email. Sending informative emails to most Musea only results in automatical replies. What to do to get responses...

Veronica Layers known of the exhibition New Talent is a good exception to this. She even visited Studio Paris twice.
